About Me
Rachel Troutman is a self-taught artist focusing on painting and collage on recycled wood. She graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Sport Management. However, Rachel always wanted to be an artist and over time realized the corporate world wasn’t for her so she set up a studio and began creating. Rachel lives in Lykens, PA with her three cats-Lulu, Hoppi, and Edie. Rachel wants you to know that having more than three cats constitutes “crazy cat lady” status. She’s just saying.
Her work is in private collections in several states as well as the Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, & the UK.
My Creative Mission:
- To celebrate colors & their possibilities
- To save wood that would be thrown away
- To create as much artwork as possible
- To make artwork accessible for everyone
Why "Staunch"?
Because my favorite movie is "Grey Gardens"! I love Little Edie and when I was thinking of a name for my business I was reminded of her "staunch character" speech. The rest is history!
